EVE Audio SC4070
If you’re looking for a combination of both quality precision and power for your core studio speakers, you can’t go wrong with the SC4070
The EVE SC4070 features a very powerful amplifier array, with one amplifier per driver. The larger woofers duplicate all frequencies up to a certain crossover frequency. The mid-range woofer picks up from there. This also means that all of our four-way speakers are symmetrical, as the woofers don’t serve different frequency bands, but essentially duplicate the bass frequencies with pinpoint accuracy.
The result? Incredible bass response, a very linear response and enough power to shake up your main studio control room.
The stylish gray plate in the middle of the speaker not only houses the midrange woofer and AMT tweeter, but can also be rotated to allow you to position your speaker vertically or horizontally.
Tech Talk SC4070
The eve audio SC4070 is the smaller monitor in our range of four-way systems, but it’s certainly not small! Two 6.5″ SilverCone woofers with a custom made 1.5″ voice coil extend the bass frequency response to 35Hz while operating up to 280Hz simultaneously.
An additionally developed 4″ SilverCone midrange unit joins these high-quality bass drivers, giving these loudspeakers greater linear excursion and clear and accurate mids. The bass and midwoofers in our EVE SC4070 feature our very low distortion copper magnet system. They combine our unique fiberglass coated diaphragms with stable honeycomb structure for spectacularly detailed and clear sound.
Our proprietary AMT RS3 (Ribbon System 3) tweeter houses a larger magnet system to deliver a higher output level with virtually no distortion, even at high output levels.
Each driver features its own PWM amplifier for a short-term total output power of 600W. With a maximum output level of 116dB (SPL @ 1m) you can be sure to judge your mixes precisely, whatever their intended output level is.
As the SC4070 perfectly combines powerful bass with a highly transparent midrange and crystal clear high frequencies, it is destined to be the perfect tool for medium to large size control rooms, where quality and consistent output power are the most important variables.
As with any other EVE studio monitor, you get both balanced XLR inputs and unbalanced RCA inputs for added convenience.
DSP EVE SC4070
With the EVE studio monitors, you also get high-resolution DSP electronics. At the touch of a button, you have access to precise volume control and various filter settings that help you adapt your monitors to the way you work. And if you always avoid digital processing, we’ve got you covered. The DSP engine is supported with a high-quality A/D converter (24bit / 192kHz) from Burr-Brown, which delivers a pristine signal to the DSP section. And since the PWM amplifiers are connected directly to the DSP, no additional conversion is required. Please visit our DSP page to learn more about our DSP philosophy.
Bass Port Design EVE Audio
It’s all in the geometry. One of the drawbacks of port compression is bass distortion. As you turn up the volume, the efficiency of the gate decreases and the distortion increases.
We opted for a large rectangular rear port with no hard edges for our bass port designs. That is one of the reasons why EVE monitors have high efficiency at the lower frequencies.
The results? High sound pressure with tight and powerful bass frequencies that do not cause port distortion. Turn up the volume and EVE delivers round bass
