SSL UMD192
Solid State Logic introduces the ssl UMD192, a powerful and portable USB audio interface designed to meet the demands of high-end studio, professional live sound and broadcast environments. With seamless integration between MADI, Dante and USB, the UMD192 offers flexible routing, a large number of channels and uncompromising performance for recording, playback and format bridging. It offers 192 channels at both 96 and 48 kHz, or 128 channels at 192 kHz in a compact and portable ½RU form factor.
The perfect bridge between USB, MADI and Dante
Built for versatility, the SSL UMD 192 supports bidirectional audio between any two formats – MADI, Dante or USB – with the third format able to receive a split feed. This makes it ideal for bridging multiple MADI-connected devices to a Dante network, or for multi-channel recording and playback via USB 3.0.
On the network side, the UMD192 offers fully interoperable Dante AoIP with support for AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM) and ultra-low Dante latency down to 0.25 ms. The UMD192 offers flexible clock options from both MADI and Dante, with sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. With six MADI BNC pairs, the UMD192 can also be configured in redundant mode, allowing three dual-redundant MADI connections for mission-critical broadcast and live workflows.
The UMD192 is perfect for SSL Oracle or ORIGIN installations with Dante or MADI conversion and an ideal computer interface for Harrison 32Classic systems with Dante. The UMD192 is a powerful solution for non-SSL console users in live sound, broadcast, studio and post-production environments, or any DAW-based studio using Dante or MADI.
With its unmatched flexibility and robust connectivity, the UMD192 is the perfect companion for engineers working in live sound, broadcast, post-production and studio environments. Whether used as a high-capacity interface or format bridge, the UMD 192 ensures that workflows remain streamlined and future-proof.
Its versatility makes it equally valuable in a wide range of professional audio scenarios. From recording and mixing broadcast music – especially when combined with SSL System T – to studio sessions with a large number of channels, the UMD192 offers seamless integration and robust performance.
