Antelope Audio Discrete 8 Oryx Synergy core audio Interface

Experience every mix with uncompromising clarity

At the heart of the Discrete 8 Oryx are the latest AD/DA converters (up to 130 dB of headroom) and fourth-generation 64-bit AFC™ clocking technology. Together they provide wider stereo reproduction, more depth and more detail than the specifications of the converter chips alone would suggest. Thanks to careful implementation and decades of clock technology experience, the sound is outstanding in both recording and playback, appreciated by audio professionals around the world.

Microphone preamplifiers
Eight channels of clear sound

The Discrete 8 Oryx features eight discrete Class A microphone preamps, each manufactured with six transistors and inspired by the circuitry of legendary recording consoles. The result is exceptional clarity, depth and ultra-low noise, along with an enhanced gain of 75 dB to handle even the most demanding microphones.

All eight inputs are DC-coupled and support both XLR and line-level TS/TRS connections, while the two front-panel inputs can also be switched to Hi-Z for direct instrument recording.

Connect everything.
Work without limitations.

With 26×38 simultaneous connectivity – including 8 preamps, 8 DC-coupled line outputs, ADAT, S/PDIF, reamp outputs, monitor outputs and 4 headphone outputs – the Discrete 8 Oryx is the centerpiece of any studio. Our intuitive virtual patchbay makes complex routing easy, allowing you to use each analog and digital channel simultaneously for true hybrid flexibility.

A redesigned software control panel puts efficiency and flexibility at your fingertips, with a streamlined, intuitive layout that adapts to your workflow. Discover fast drag-and-drop routing, simultaneous control of all digital and analog ports, and low-latency direct monitoring with built-in effects. This software upgrade significantly streamlines operation and expands the creative control available within the Discrete 8 Oryx.

4 headphones
Perfect monitoring for everyone

Maximize your session flow and your artists’ comfort with four independent stereo headphone outputs with high-quality DACs for clean and powerful monitoring. this is what the Discrete 8 Oryx offers. Using Oryx’s extensive routing and four low-latency virtual mixers, you can create completely separate, individual mixes for each musician, allowing you to deliver cue mixes tailored to their specific needs.
Take these personalized monitor mixes to the next level with real-time, latency-free FX from the powerful Synergy Core platform, for perfect, finished sound that significantly improves performance and captures the best recording.

Shape your sound in
real time without delay.

Powered by 2 DSPs and 1 FPGA, the Discrete 8 Oryx’s built-in Synergy Core platform lets you use a collection of world-class analog modeled effects – from compressors and EQs to amps and reverbs – in real time with no discernible delay. Perfect for giving vocalists a polished monitoring chain with reverb, or for offloading CPU-intensive processing during recording and live performance. 37 real-time FX are included, with more available in the Antelope Software Store….

Conversion & Clocking

Industry-leading AD/DA conversion with up to 130dB of headroom.

Record, mix and playback up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Proprietary 64-bit AFC™ (Acoustically Focused Clocking) technology & jitter-management algorithm, which provides wider sound width, better separation and more detail.

Connectivity
