Universal Audio Volt 476: Give Your Productions the “Pro” Treatment
Where most budget interfaces simply transmit your sound, the Universal Audio Volt 476 adds something magical. Inspired by Universal Audio’s rich history, this interface offers tools normally found only in high-end studios, wrapped in a stylish case with wooden side panels.
Vintage Warmth at the Touch of a Button
The Volt 476 features two high-quality preamps with a switchable Vintage mode. This circuit emulates the electronics of the legendary Universal Audio 610 tube console-the mixer used by such luminaries as Ray Charles and Van Halen. You get that sought-after analog texture and richness that makes vocals and instruments sound instantly “off” in the mix.
The Iconic 76 Compressor, Now Built-in
The most striking feature of the Volt 476 is the 76 Compressor. This innovative analog circuit is based on the famous UA 1176 Peak Limiter. Instead of complicated settings, you choose from three perfectly tuned presets (Vocals, Guitar, Fast/Source) to give your sound more “punch” and presence. The result? A professional, polished sound without the need for CPU-burdening plug-ins while recording.
Versatile Connectivity for Larger Projects
With four inputs and four outputs, the Volt 476 offers more flexibility than its smaller brothers.
Inputs: Two combo XLR/Jack inputs on the front for microphones and instruments, plus two line inputs on the rear for synths or drum machines.
Outputs: Four outputs allow you to connect different monitor pairs or integrate external outboard gear.
Monitoring: Thanks to the Direct Monitoring function, you can hear yourself without any delay (latency).
Ready for iPad and iPhone
Are you on the go a lot? The Volt 476 is “Class Compliant” and works seamlessly with your iPad or iPhone. This gives you a mobile studio setup that lets you make professional-quality recordings anywhere (requires an external Volt power supply and an Apple Camera Connection Kit).
