Universal Audio Apollo E2m: Your Studio’s Central Command Post
In a modern hybrid studio, workflow is king. Nothing is more disruptive to the creative process than having to constantly switch between windows to adjust a volume or set up a headphone mix. The Universal Audio Apollo E2m is the physical solution to this digital problem. This controller is not just a volume knob; it is a deeply integrated interface remote that gives you direct access to the powerful internal routing of your Apollo system. With a heavy, high-quality rotary knob and responsive buttons, the E2m brings the ergonomics of a large studio console to your desktop.

Why choose the Universal Audio Apollo E2m?
Choosing the Universal Audio Apollo E2m is a choice of focus. For the professional mixing or mastering engineer, this means you can keep your eyes on the monitors and your ears on the music, while your hands intuitively maintain control of the hardware. It eliminates the need to have UA’s “Console” app constantly in the foreground, leaving your screen space free for your DAW.
At i4studio, we recommend the Apollo E2m to anyone looking to complete the Apollo experience. Whether you work in a compact home setup or an elaborate commercial studio, the E2m elevates your interface from an external device to an interactive part of your instrumentation. It is the missing link for a smooth, professional studio workflow.
Technical specifications
1. Do I still need UA’s software console? The software remains the engine in the background, but the E2m replaces almost all the daily operations you normally do in the Console app. You can physically adjust volumes, inputs and monitor settings directly.
2. Does the E2m also work with other audio interfaces? The E2m was developed specifically for the Universal Audio ecosystem. While some basic functions can work via MIDI, the real power comes only when combined with an Apollo interface and LUNA.
3. Is the Talkback microphone of good quality? Sure. The internal microphone is optimized for speech intelligibility, so you can communicate clearly with artists through their headphone mixes without pulling extra cables.
4. Can I connect multiple sets of speakers? The E2m acts as the controller for the outputs of your Apollo interface. If your interface has multiple outputs, you can easily switch between ‘Monitor A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ via the E2m.
5. Is the controller powered from the computer? Yes, the E2m is typically bus-powered, meaning you don’t need an additional power adapter at your desk. One cable is enough for both data and power.
