Why the Audient HORIZON 8P?

The Audient Horizon 8P brings together a complete recording chain (tracking front-end) in a single 19-inch rack unit. Eight authentic Audient console microphone preamps —designed based on David Dearden’s classic circuitry from the ASP8024-HE mixing console—give every sound source a true analog character with a whopping 75 dB of clean, low-noise gain.

With ORBIT Control, you can adjust the hardware impedance for each preamp, ensuring that the tonal character of ribbon, dynamic, and condenser microphones is optimally matched right at the source.

As soon as the session moves into the mixing phase, you can connect external equipment (outboard gear) directly via the eight DB25 line inputs. Thanks to 32-bit conversion, a dynamic range of 133 dB, and an ultra-low round-trip latency of 0.99 ms, you can record and monitor effortlessly using native plug-ins without any noticeable delay. With the Horizon Control software, you also have virtual routing, extensive monitoring, and four independent cue mixes at your fingertips with a single mouse click.
