UAD-2 DSP Accelerator interface is available in QUAD configurations, with four individual SHARC processors. A workhorse for modern mixing work, the four-processor UAD2 QUAD gives project studios the power to run medium-sized sessions. Up to six UAD-2 Quad units can be combined in one system.

In developing UAD plug-ins, the UA engineering group undertakes a thorough physical modeling of classic audio hardware – “rebuilding” vintage analog equipment into the digital world, component by component. In this way, UAD plug-ins replicate the exact, sometimes idiosyncratic behavior of analog hardware – bringing the rich, three-dimensional sound and harmonics “in the box”.
