UAD-2 DSP Accelerator interface is available in an OCTO configuration, with 8 individual SHARC processors. The 8-processor UAD2 OCTO Core is a workhorse for modern mixing work and gives your studio the power to run large sessions. Up to 4 UAD-2 Octo devices can be combined in one system.
UAD Plug-In Craftsmanship: The Science Behind the Scenes
In developing UAD plug-ins, the UA engineering group undertakes a thorough physical modeling of classic audio hardware – “rebuilding” vintage analog equipment into the digital world, component by component. In this way, UAD plug-ins replicate the exact, sometimes idiosyncratic behavior of analog hardware – bringing the rich, three-dimensional sound and harmonics “in the box”.
the UAD library contains over 90 plug-ins, co-developed with the biggest brands in the audio industry. These plug-ins can be purchased together with UAD-2 hardware from i4studio as part of bundled packages, or you can purchase UAD plug-ins à la carte from UA’s Online Store.
The UAD-2 OCTO supports the use of Audio Units, RTAS or VST plug-ins from other manufacturers when used with the appropriate host software. In addition, up to four UAD-2 cards can be used simultaneously in a single host computer, or combined with other UAD-2 devices, including the UAD-2 Satellite (FireWire), and the Apollo audio interface.
