The original, patented, portable acoustic filter: the Reflexion Filter® PRO
Beautiful concert halls, gigantic spaces with high ceilings, lofty stairwells with glorious natural reverberations…capturing the sound of an acoustically pleasing room can make a great recording truly special. But getting good sound in a bad room is very difficult.
What if you’re an artist recording at home? What if you don’t have the budget for a well-treated studio? What if you move to a new house or apartment?
Since the reflection filter was invented in 2006, more than 120,000 units have made their way into studios and homes around the world – and it remains the undisputed industry standard for portable, effective acoustic treatment.
How does it work?
If you place a microphone in front of you, he doesn’t just hear you – he hears the room around you.
Even if it’s a cardioid mic and mainly listens to you, it still picks up reflections from your voice or instrument bouncing off the walls and coming back to the mic. The goal of acoustic treatment is to minimize the pick-up of such reflections, so that your primary sound source comes through as purely as possible.
So why not just put some cardboard or foam behind the microphone?
Some materials are good at absorbing or reflecting certain frequencies – foam, for example, absorbs highs very well, but does nothing for lows.
Unlike cheap foam RF imitations, sE’s proprietary multi-layer technology works evenly across the entire frequency spectrum to ensure balanced, even sound without coloration.
