Waldorf is proud to announce a new chapter in their tradition of designing high-quality groundbreaking synthesizers. Starting with Waldorf’s famous wavetable technology developed decades ago, it has always been a challenge to give our instruments a powerful, flexible and distinct beating heart. Our digital oscillators coupled with the tremendous power and efficient simplicity of our analog filters started the digital revolution in the 1980s.

The Waldorf Quantum MK2 combines the raw power of a classic digital and analog hybrid synthesizer with futuristic sounds only possible with today’s software synthesis.

The 3 oscillators each provide five synthesizer algorithms:

• Waldorf-style wavetables with Nave’s latest additions, including speech synthesis and wavetable generation from audio.
• Classic synthesizer waveforms with multiple waves for ultra-fat sound straight from the oscillators.
• Granular sampler with multi-sampling plus traditional sampling mode.
• Resonator for virtual sound shaping.
• New kernel synthesis with capabilities from classic 6-operator FM to innovative audio frequency wavetable modulations

The flexibility that results from the Waldorf Quantum MK2’s powerful oscillators and their interaction with each other is simply breathtaking. Never before has it ever been possible to create such a wide sonic bandwidth with one synthesizer. Stretching from classic analog, with precise sample reproduction, to loud or animated digital sounds, escalating all the way to sound and series clusters, which can only be achieved with a modular synthesizer system.

To understand the functional correlations between one button and another, each control button is individually illuminated by a multi-colored LED. This makes it immediately apparent when looking at complex settings and modulation settings, where related parameters can be adjusted quickly and efficiently. With the help of the beautiful central display, precise settings can be easily processed, much the same as the experience when using your advanced computer tablet.

When Waldorf engineers decided to develop the Waldorf Quantum mk2 , little did they know that it would take several years of hard work. There were areas of Quantum that brought out our years of experience generating sound. But Quantum is so powerful that it took our team into uncharted territory, where both sound and the way it was felt would interact with the musician.

Waldorf Quantum MK2 was designed and developed by our dedicated team in Germany. All essential components are designed, produced and assembled here in Germany. This has enabled us to produce the Waldorf Quantum mk2 with unparalleled build quality. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank an array of world-class sound designers who contributed to a versatile factory sound set.

Waldorf Quantum MK2’s beautifully ergonomic and intuitive user panel supports an artist’s workflow with previously unknown elegance. The carefully crafted array of aluminum knobs and encoders surround a high-resolution multi-touch multi-touch display. Waldorf engineers spent many long hours perfecting the interaction between the display and the physical controls. The stunning display is a highly flexible extension of the tactile experience and is light years ahead of any synthesizer on the market today.
